Design and Selection of Circular Pipe Belt Conveyor (Part 1)

With the requirements of modern production development, environmental protection has become an increasingly important issue in today's era, attracting widespread attention worldwide. The pollution caused by dust and loose materials generated by conveyor systems during operation has attracted increasing attention from relevant industries and administrative departments around the world. In order to reduce pollution during the conveying process and promote environmentally friendly and harmless material transportation, people have developed and researched the technology and equipment of closed conveying, and various forms of closed belt conveyors have emerged, including basic forms such as circular tube and other special-shaped tube belt conveyors.
According to the different forms of conveyor belts, common closed tubular belt conveyors can be roughly divided into two categories:(1)Circular tube belt conveyor, including basic and edge clamped belt conveyors where the conveyor belt is forced into a circular tube shape by hexagonal and octagonal roller groups;(2)Special shaped tubular belt conveyors, including pear shaped, flat circular, and triangular section belt conveyors. In addition, there are also structures such as hanging belt conveyors.
Although the structure of enclosed tubular belt conveyors is diverse, they share common characteristics:
1、It can transport materials in a closed manner without flying, spilling, or leaking. Due to the tubular shape of the return branch conveyor belt, there is no need to worry about materials adhering to the conveyor belt falling off, and it also prevents materials outside the pipe from mixing into the conveyed materials, achieving harmless and environmentally friendly transportation.
2、It can be flexibly transported in space, bypassing various obstacles and facilities without the need for multiple reposts. The overall layout is simple, easy to install, and can achieve spatially curved layout lines with a small curvature radius.
3、Can increase the inclination angle of the conveyor. A closed tubular conveyor belt can wrap materials inside it, increasing the friction between the materials and the inner surface of the conveyor belt. Therefore, the inclination angle of the conveyor can be appropriately increased, usually by 300 degrees. After adding partitions, it can reach 60-900 degrees, shortening the overall length of the machine and reducing costs and infrastructure expenses.
4、The closed tubular conveyor belt structure determines that it will not deviate during operation, reducing maintenance costs.(Selected from the internet)(To be continued)
