Design characteristics of the turning part of the belt conveyor
Author:
In the design process of belt conveyors, it is often encountered that they are on the same route rather than on the same straight line. At this time, it is often necessary to consider intermediate transfer, which affects key issues such as economic benefits, conveying efficiency, and reliability. However, plane turning can solve this problem within a certain range. Horizontal turning eliminates worn parts such as buffers, cleaners, and guide slots, eliminating the risk of material overflow or blockage, reducing dust flying and noise, making the system power supply and control system more centralized, which is beneficial for protecting the environment. It also eliminates the intermediate unloading height and reduces unnecessary energy consumption.
There are two forms of flat turning, namely forced guided turning and natural directional turning. Forced guided turning, such as the tubular belt conveyor we call, is achieved by setting up specialized devices at the turning point to change direction. Natural turning causes the conveyor belt to naturally bend and run according to mechanical laws. The horizontal curved belt conveyor belongs to this type, which uses ordinary conveyor belts, calculates the turning radius, and arranges its roller group along the conveyor line based on this radius. The conveyor belt can bend and run on it without deviation.
Three measures are generally required for belt conveyors to achieve natural turning, namely basic measures, additional measures, and emergency measures.
