At the opening ceremony of the 9th China Small and Medium Enterprises Festival, Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People's Congress, warmly congratulated and addressed the festival. She said that only by increasing their independent innovation capabilities, cultivating their own brands, and possessing more intellectual property rights can small and medium-sized enterprises achieve sustainable development. She hopes that small and medium-sized enterprises can cultivate an inspiring corporate culture, create a favorable environment and conditions for talent growth, continuously learn and adopt advanced management concepts, methods, and means at home and abroad, promote management innovation and institutional innovation, comprehensively enhance the market competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, further adjust and optimize product structure, and vigorously carry out clean production, economical production, and safe production.
In his speech, Bai Lichen, Vice Chairman of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said that small and medium-sized entrepreneurs should enhance their sensitivity to policies, pay more attention to and deeply understand the strategic deployment of the Party Central Committee on economic work, seize the opportunity of comprehensively deepening reform, make efforts in scientific and technological innovation, product innovation, service innovation and other aspects, fully utilize various innovative resources, create their own innovative wings, and promote the development and upgrading of enterprises.

Li Zibin, President of the China Association of Small and Medium sized Enterprises, delivered a speech with the theme of "Macro Policy Trends and Enterprise Innovation Transformation under the New Economic Normal". Enterprises need to adapt to the new normal, accelerate their innovation, transformation, and development, and entrepreneurs need to 'seek momentum'. Efforts should be made to integrate the "small trend" of the enterprise's own development into the "big trend" of the national development strategy. Promoting the construction of new urbanization, Made in China 2025, Internet plus action, the the Belt and Road strategy, etc., contains unlimited opportunities for enterprises to innovate, transform and develop. Entrepreneurs should constantly learn and gradually master the ability to combine industry and finance, technology and capital. In this way, the enterprise will develop smoothly.
At this meeting, nearly a thousand enterprise representatives from all over the country discussed hot topics such as "the Belt and Road" and "Internet+" to seek the development path of SMEs under the "new normal".
